Deportation Defense To Keep Families Together

The U.S. immigration system only cares if a person is “legal” or “illegal.” But removal (deportation) affects real human beings. It tears families apart. It punishes people who have worked hard and lived clean lives. It sends people back to dangerous situations.

Is your immigration status in jeopardy? Has your loved one been detained by ICE? Contact Nuñez Law immediately. I have years of experience with removal defense, including humanitarian intervention for victims of violence or crime.

Zealous Advocacy For Immigrants Facing Removal

I am New York City lawyer Ginny Nuñez. My clients are good and decent people who are facing removal because they crossed the border unlawfully. Some have lived in America for many years. They have jobs and families. They tried hard to stay “under the radar” but always feared this day could come.

As your immigration attorney, I will explore every defense and all relief under U.S. immigration law. One of the first things is to find out where your family member is being held and whether they can be released on an immigration bond until their removal case is heard by the Immigration Court.

I am familiar with all the avenues of relief to avoid being deported, such as:

  • Cancellation of removal
  • Adjustment of status (green card)
  • Waivers of inadmissibility
  • Asylum and special visas for victims of crime, domestic abuse or persecution

As a last resort, you may qualify for voluntary departure which would allow you to return to the U.S. at a future date rather than being permanently barred from re-entry.

How Do They Decide If I Stay Or Go?

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) can be cold and swift in removing undocumented aliens (“illegal immigrants”). But immigration judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals will consider factors such as continuous physical presence in the U.S., lack of criminal convictions, good moral character and references, and the extreme hardship on children, spouses or parents if the person were deported. My job is to pursue remedies under the law and help clients present the strongest case for staying in the United States with their family.
